Cat, Owl or Toad...
Ok, so you are a first year and you have to choose a pet to take with you to Hogwarts. Which would you choose? I personally would choose a cat, although, Hedwig is pretty cool and the owls live in the owlery so there is no clean up involved... a cat would need a cat box, so... I'm going with an owl. Your turn...

Definitely an owl!
They're useful and unusual, and they can live in the owlery so you don't have to worry about cleaning after them too much.
Plus, I have cat allergies...
I would take an owl, easily. With an owl I could get mail,though I'd have to make sure that it wasn't like Ron's owl. Way too embarrasing!
